Wednesday - What a Day!

Beautiful weather, great spirit, winning volleyball, building relationship and open doors: today was a great day.  You can read the some of the details below.  Other details will have to wait until our return.  Tomorrow we start at 6:15 am.  We are heading by train to Potsdam and then see a WW2 concentration  camp.  We end the day with a cookout with our new German friends.  The gals really look forward each morning to reading your feedback.  Pictures load very slowly if at all.  We will do our best to post new ones.  Thanks for your prayers and the communication.

From Kedra
Today was so much fun! It started out when we were told that Wencke and Leah were going to be able to come with us around town! Wencke was our "tour guide" to the castle that we were able to go through. Our tour guide did the entire tour in English! She told us that she enjoyed being able to practice her English on us. The tour was history that involved much the life of a king. There were art paintings all over also!! Those were actually interesting because some were self-portraits as well as other important people. We continued on through town to a place to eat real German food. We hurried then to the school to meet the team for volleyball! The entire afternoon was amazing to just be able to play with and talk to the German people that were our age! We are all looking forward to what will come from this afternoon, just being able to be friendly to them.

Eric- you would have enjoyed the castle today! The paintings were very good. I miss you!

Hello everyone. Today was a fun day! We got to play volleyball against some highschool young people. It was awesome. Afterwards we went with them to get some ice cream and we made some friends. They are very nice young people! We invited them to come to a cookout tomorrow night at six and many of them said they would come. We were able to give them all a German bridge tracts. We again walked a lot today...our legs are gonna be so strong by the end of this trip. Now we are back at the Talley's house playing games and reading. Tomorrow we are going to see a concentration camp and some other things. We have to get up early though...we're leaving at 6:20. Ok byeÖ

From Madine (Nadine)
Today was so awesome!! We got to play volleyball today  against the some of the high school students. We made some really good contacts, and really established some friendships with them. We have so many stories as to what we talked to them about, we will have to share those when we get back, or you would be here forever reading. We did get at least three of their e-mail addresses, and they sounded really excited about that idea. We are praying that those who said they would come tom. will actually come!! This could open a door for the Talley family, so please pray that they will come, and that they will see Christ's love shining through us. Today really was so encouraging! This entire trip so far we have felt as if these people were so hard towards us and towards the word, but today proved to us that God is in control of every situation. Okay change of subject, after we were done fellowshipping with the students we headed back to the house for dinner. When we were really close to the house, Uncle Brian (Mr. Trainer) stopped us and asked if any of us wanted to go to the Army and Navy store, and Jess, Bobbi, and i all wanted to go. The sad part is is that we got there 12 minutes late=(, but we were able to hand a track to a man who tried showing us where the store was, so we think that the Lord had us go just to give that man a tract. Thank you all for your prayers!! The Lord is so amazing, and we need all the prayers we can get!
Sam, thank you so much for getting my car fixed, that is such a relief! Really I can´t thank you enough, i know that you are busy!  So how is school going for you now, have you already taken a lot of tests or  quizzes? I am sorry I have not written you a lot, we don't have a ton of time. I miss you so much, and i am praying for you!  I love you and i can't wait to see you. Bobbi, Mando, Kedra all say hi to Mr. Prez, AKA you.

Hello family it was so good to hear from you. It sounds like you guys are having a great time. Things here are well. So do you think that you will pick me up at Maranatha or at Keds house. just let me know. Miss you all lots and will see you soon!

From Grandma/Mom
Hey Jack, Max, (Cari & Josh) - Sure miss talking to you guys!!!  I have seen snails, dogs, cats and Army stuff, but no super heroes!  Do you miss me?  The girls played their volleyball games today and did really well!  Things are a little different here - most people either walk, ride bikes or take the train.  The train ride was fun.  We went to the castle of the 'Soldier King' today.  He lived about 300 years ago and used this castle for when he went hunting.  The doughnuts here are SUPER good, but I haven't seen any with sprinkles on them.  Yesterday we went to a school and showed the kids how to eat Oreos.  They had never had them before!  What is sad is that they have not heard about Jesus before either.  Please pray for them.  Give each other a hug and kiss!  I am looking for a special surprise for you!  Love, Grandma Pfaffe

From Holly,
Mom, he's really nice. I promise. A little quiet but he sells great food:-) The wedding is planned for two weeks from now. I know it's a little fast but it was love at first sight!! Anyway, Renee, you need to come here and see their flowers! They are all beautiful, every yard is perfectly kept. Maybe we can take some lessons from them. Well, got to go. The others are waiting for me. Just finished playing Uno and doing yet another Sudoku. Love you all back home!!!!!!

Hey Ked!

Thats really cool that you got to see the art at the castle! Looks like you're getting along with the kids well from the pictures. Play well and don't show off too much. ;) The shirts look pretty good from what I can see. Hope everyone is enjoying them. I miss very much too!!! Keep having fun serving.

Dear Coach Jackson,
Thanks for the extra preseason workout with the players. The walking will help them during preseason. Why don't you add an extra session tomorrow and have them run a mile also. By the way, did the German girls beat us in volleyball? What do we need to work on? Blocking?Hitting?Serving?Digging? Keep good notes! I'm praying for more witnessing opportunities for you all. We love looking at the pictures and reading the notes. I reread them all everyday. It's wonderful how you are getting to combine the culture and the outreach. Keep up the smiles. We'll keep praying.

Holly,
Just wanted to update you on the status of the applications...I'M CAUGHT UP!!!!! The folder is empty. Even got the first few weeks alphabetized. Will finish it on Friday.

By the way, just wanted to let you know that we won't be driving the blue car anymore. Maynard said it's had it. After 3 accidents and 7 years later, it has served its purpose. Will have to have a moment of silence for the car :)

Well, Katie wants the computer so I better get off. You know how she is...lol.

Love you lots. Everyone says hi. We miss you. Sarah

Hey, is there a story behind "Madine?" I saw that in your post yesterday so I figured I would ask you about it. It sounds like you are having an amazing time! I'm excited to hear about it in person. You'll definitely have to let me know how it is going to the concentration camp. I bet that will be an incredible experience. And your car took like ten minutes to get it taken care of, so it was no problem at all. I'm just glad it was nothing serious. School is going ok; it is very busy with a test every other day in developmental psychology. Modern Creationary is a fun class, though, so I enjoy it. I'm so glad that your trip is going well! It's definitely a highlight of my day to read the blog. I love you, miss you, and can't wait to talk to you soon.
