Today started out with a great breakfast at our "bed and breakfast", unfortunately we did not know what we were eating. Next we met at the Talley´s home for our morning meeting and devotions. Today we found out the hard way that walking is a extremely common form of transportation. Especially when 90% of us were wearing flip flops (which Germans took note of; we were informed later that flip flops are a form of house shoes). Our first walk to the train station took about 30 minutes, we noticed while waiting for the train how loud we as a group are in comparison to the other travelers. It seemed almost as if no one talks over here. But we didn´t let that keep us from having a good time. Over all we had a great time today, we laughed a lot and took tons of pictures. I will let someone else continue with our day...
Hey Sam, I love you and i miss you!! I hope that your first day of school went well!

After we made it downtown Berlin, we ate lunch on our way to Checkpoint Charlie. We went to the museum that explained about the people that tried to escape East Berlin. It was very sobering to see what people would do for others to help them get to safety. We continued on to see where the Berlin wall was. Throughout the rest of the day, we saw numerous other historical and political buildings. We got to shop at a mall downtown, which as we walked through, we noticed that the stores were many that we have in the States. Then we started our long journey back that involves a train ride and a hike.
Hi Eric, hope you are having a fun break so far. Talk to you later.
Hey Bruce, I miss and love you. MJ (post me back if you read this)

So...Sheila was right, I wish that I knew more of the language here...so I decided to make friends with the Germans and ask them to teach me more! I learned a new word or phrase from each person I 'befriended.' Here are the things I learned from absolute strangers--
'I don't know'
'I like that'
and
'dog'
I decided to practice my new phrases for the missionaries... and they quickly informed me that I was saying, 'I like BEER' instead of 'I like THAT.'
I mean, that is a good way to start off my first missions trip! Good thing I hadn't started trying out my new phrases in public yet!!!
Anyways, SHOUT OUT to Vic, Dadio, Shizna...and friends!!!!!
Dearest Corey - löve and miss you!
