I'm sitting in my office looking out at a winter wonderland.  School was canceled today, which has only happened one other time in the past 20 years.  It is now noon, and since 12:30 this morning, we have received about 12 inches of snow and could end up with 20.  We are to get a record snowfall this year, and this storm is the biggest of the season.  One can see in the faces and hear in the laughter the students' excitement as they walk past my window.  I've seen an occasional snow ball leave the hand of a guy or girl and know that it found its intended target by the squeal or yell that followed!  For safety issues the students will attend a campus church service tonight as the roads are treacherous.

As for me, I love the snow.  I want it to snow as much as possible...before Christmas.  I am ready for spring.

That's one parent's perspective.
