Today began with temperatures above freezing and a beautiful sunny sky.  While the temperatures have remained pleasant, the skies have become overcast, and we have been told to expect as much as 12 inches of snow overnight.  Why Dr. Cedarholm didn’t found Maranatha further south 40 years ago, I’ll never know!  This winter has made me glad that I have a teenage son still living at home.

This week our visitor season begins in ernest; we are hosting a high school basketball tournament with over 100 teens coming to play and to see Maranatha first hand.  Throughout this semester we will have nearly 900 visitors.  Each family, team, or youth group that visits has its own personality, and it is always a joy to see how each group differs from the others.

Here at Maranatha one of the joys of my position is the opportunity to interact with group leaders--especially parents.  If you are planning to bring your children for a campus visit this spring, please plan on eating lunch with my wife and me.  We can sit and discuss Maranatha from a parent's perspective, we can share the joys of parenting, or we can express our thoughts on why the Green Bay Packers failed to make the Super Bowl.

That's one parent's perspective.
