Men’s basketball has been a part of the intercollegiate athletics program at Maranatha since the school was established in the fall of 1968.
Jerry Terrill coached the Crusaders from 1979-2004, leading the team to five conference championships and the 1990 NCCAA Division II national championship. He was recently inducted in the Maranatha Athletics Hall of Fame in October 2008. Maranatha competes in the Northern Athletics Conference and is a member of NCAA Division III and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
Rob Cronin coached the Crusaders from 2004-2009. In 2009 Neal Ring took the helm of the Crusader team until the spring of 2012.
Keith Salscheider was tabbed head coach in April of 2012 and brings with him a wealth of professional experience. Salscheider played in Australia, Denmark and with the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). The Bemidji, Minn., native averaged 17 points, shooting 45% from 3-point range with the Great Falls Explorers in 2007-08.
